Turgenev fest in Passage!

Пассаж

From November 12 to November 16, St. Petersburg will host a large-scale festival of student theater projects — Turgenev fest. The year 2018 was declared the year of Ivan Turgenev in Russia, that’s why the best performances and projects based on writer's works will be played by students of theater studios from all around the world.

Passage became one of the venues of festival. That’s why on November 13 and 14, the show called “Parting. Dialogues about love” by Ivan Turgenev's play “A Month in the Village” will be held here in Passage. For one evening the young actors of “Premature Theater” project will turn the shopping gallery into a stage.

By a surprising coincidence, Passage Shopping Center and the play “Month in the Village” are of the same age. The first known edition of the play dates back to 1848, and the grand opening of Passage shopping gallery took place in the same year.

The space of the Central Gallery of Passage will turn into a stage only for two nights. During this time, young actors will tell stories about the search for infinitely desired and hopeless love.

The performance is based on the main characters as Natalya Petrovna, Verochka, Rakitin and Belyaev. All other characters appear in the stories and dialogues of these four.
